R8.0 Virtual Essential Edition Upgrade to R8.1 2

Can this be done with the upgrade license alone or do we need to purchase the 8.0 Essential first?

You can use the essential edition license for 8+ (there is no 8.0 essential edition license but a 8+)
You can also use the upgrade license to get the virtual essential edition license.

It never makes sense to buy the essential edition licence, it costs more than twice as much as the upgrade licence and severely limits the system (which the upgrade licence doesn't) unless you are buying preferred edition too, even then overall it costs more so it's a no brained to never buy it......until Avaya close the loophole
