Qurak 3.3 suddendly won't open docs..

I have created three Quark documents, sales sheets, using normal photoshop images and fonts I have used for nearly 8 years. When I attempt to open any one of the three docs, Quark lets me select the doc, it seems to attempt opening but the watch comes on and stays on. The screen stays blanl. I have opened other docs with Quark and no problem. Of course, the docs I am trying to open need to be proofed yesterday! I am using Quark 3.3 on a 7500100 Mac - OS 8.
I have trashed the prefs to no avail.
