quotation marks in word 1

Hi,

I've recently installed Word 2003 on a new laptop and I notice that if I type single or double quotation marks, they won't appear until I type another letter aferwards. Eg, if I press the quotatio marks key, it won't appear on the screen until I hit another button. Does anyone know if there's a way to turn this off?

This is not so much a Word application error as it is a sign that you have selected a non-English keyboard layout in Windows. If you have Windows XP, click on Start | Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Languages | Text services and input languages: Details | Settings.
