"Word Like" embedded HTML creator/editor?

I have seen what I suppose are java apps embedded into web pages which supply the user with formatting buttons very similar to Microsoft Word with the ability to set font size, color, bold, underline, etc. Do any of you know of such an app (free if possible) that I can use that will allow a user to create content easily with this familiar interface, and then let me upload the html code behind it to a database so I can display it later with my ASP code?
