Here's the deal:

I have a restore job that I need to do. Got to get at one directory. I can see the directory, but when creating the restore job I get "unable to create selection list".

Veritas / Symantec say to upgrade my version which is 10.1d rev 5629 fully patched.

I am in the process of re-cataloging the media which is currently on 8.5 hrs.

Anyone else had this problem?

Hi steveot,

After the cataloging, the issue is still apparent. How do I go about fixing the Backup Exec Database please?

DJ

You have to drop the existing database and reload from backup or base. You will probably lose all your jobs setting/media sets. Catalogs will be retained.

When you go thru this technote try a reload from backup first. Then try the base.

Thanks steveot. I had the great misfortune of applying the SQL server patch which completed foobar'd the whole backup exec program. I spend last Friday reinstalling from scratch and recreating the database from base. I have managed to keep the catalogs, though they will need to be reprocessed in due course.

Thanks for your help again.
