Ok, so what's going on? "The visual basic for applications project in the database is corrupt." I've researched this on Google and Microsoft.com, used JetComp.exe, done /decompile, tried just about every main menu item that might appear to have potential, and I cannot simply access the password protected VBA code in this Acc XP database (SP 3). Yes, I've seen it said that this occasionally happens and is unrecoverable, but I refuse to give up just yet. This is the worst crash I've ever experienced. Normally in the past I've been able to at least hold down Shift when opening and recover the code, but now I can't even get to the code. All of yesterday's work would be a loss. Does anyone know of any other utilities out there that would at least enable me to get to the VBA modules? Thanks.

Since you seem to have tried "everything", I'd say have a look at this page Corrupt Microsoft Access MDBs FAQ, and the links to commercial products/services that may (or may not) be of service. Since you've tried everything, I gather that's the next step. Then there's just a bit of evaluating the cost of utilizing one of them (both time and money, I suppose) vs the cost of going back to latest backup.

Thanks a lot, RoyVidar. I'll check that out and post my results.

Well, seems like an interesting site with some interesting links to be found, but it was finally time to cut my losses and start over. Tuesday's work at the bottom of the sea.
