"Retry missed targets" option in AS2000 - new tape required?

All,

I've been trying to find an answer to this but so far no luck. If you select the "Retry missed targets" option in ARCServe 2000, will it require a new tape or after creating the make-up job will it append to the normal backup tape? We have had some unrecoverable data errors and as a fail safe I would like to use this option but will be unable to if ARCServe requires a new tape for the automatic make-up job it creates if the normal backup fails.

Not a 100% sure but I think it appends. Regardless I would not expect it to overwrite the previous tape.
