Hi I am going to setup a 2600 router to two 2950 switch what should I set the router up for full duplex or half and what speed also what should the two switch be setup for from switch1 to switch2 how should each switch be set for please help and explain

the router should be full-duplex 100 or auto-detect, you configure the switch ports individually, if the devices that are connecting to the switch, ie pc's servers etc have 100 meg NIC cards then you config the switch to that speed, if only 10 meg config to that, try not to leave auto detect on as this can cause a problem, you need a xover cable to connect the 2 switches together and they will talk to each other on 100 meg.

There are really two familys of 2600 routers. The fast ethernet and the not fast etherent series. What model router do you have?

cisco 2821with 12404T IOS Advance IP Service 12.4
TWO WS-C3560-24PS-E Switches and
TWO GLC-SX-MM Cisco GE SFP, LC Connectr SX Trnsceiver
and fiber cable with LC PLUGS ON BOTH END.

When I program the switch the if I select the giga0/0 port to uplink to the 2821 giga interface should I set it for full duplex and speed 1000 and should the switch be set up the same also. what is the step by step approach way to upgrade the IOS on this router with out causing any problem thank.
