"Press * to reach another mailbox?"

I have a customer with a flash 1.7 who claims he used to say in his mailbox greeting to press * then another extension to reach his assistant but now if * is pressed you hear " exiting the system" and are booted anyone know how to set it back?

Check under the AA menu in the Flash and look for a parameter called "Return to AA". If this says No, change to Yes, although this will leave the Flash more susceptible to hacking.
