Hey,
I am running Outlook 2002 to recieve POP3 mail from our server. Starting Thursday or so last week, I became unable to send or receive email. I wasn't getting an error, just no mail being sent or received. I tried various suggestions that fixed similar problems, but nothing worked. I unistalled and reinstalled Office XP, and now I can send email, but I get the error "Operation Failed" when I click on send/receive. I have been able to send and receive thru outlook express, so it is not the server.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hey back,

Not to sure what the answer is, but I'm having the exact same issue and it started for me yesterday, 7/27/04. The only thing I changed on my system was romoving word as my default e-mail editor. I'm going to try and undo that action. Also, I found this link at MS which may help.

I guess the facts in my case are slightly different in that I did not uninstall/reinstall, and, it seems that mail does go in and out, but, when clicking on F5, or through tools menu, I get the 'operation failed' error.

Please let me know if you come up with any solutions.

Thanks for the help. That cleared up all my problems. I was not getting any mail in, just out, even though Outlook is set up to check every minute. Sorry I cannot help you any.
