"open in new window" has stopped working in IE6

Just stopped working.......also, hyperlnks in Outlook express don't work

Any ideas.....i've searched for ages and found nothing :-(

Hi Raul,

Your problem is exactly the one I am currently experiencing !

Using Google, in Preferences, selecting, "Open page in new window", just produces a browser shell with an empty address bar and going nowhere. Clicking 'Stop' then 'Refresh' fills in the empty address bar and the page loads normally.

In Outlook Express clicking on the Hyperlink on an inbox mail produces the same result.

Like you I have tried everything I can think of .... Re-installing IE6 / Re-installing Windows / looking at all the browser options etc.

My only recent activity was to download the new KAzaa Lite, though its hard to know if this has any bearing on the problem.

I note you seem to have cured your problem ... what exactly did you do ?

I am running W98SE / AVG anti virus / Outpost Firewall.

I recently had a Floppy borne virus my daughter brought home from school ! ( VBS Redlof ), This seemed to stay on the floppy and the virus scan says all clear.

I would much appreciate any other responses on this matter.

My problems seemed to start after un-installing a kazaa style program. Not sure what i did though....just re-installed IE6 and Java and it worked again
