Hi,
a colleague got a strange problem: his windows 98 crashed after the installation of Nvidia-Forceware 61.76 and DirectX 9.0b. So he reinstalled Windows completly. But now in Windows Explorer Menu and in the right-click context menu the "new" key disappeared, so he cannot create a new folder.
Anyone with an idea?

Go to and download the trial version of TuneUp Utilities 2004.

Install the program.

Open TuneUp -> on left side of window click on "Customize & Analyze -> Click on "Tuneup System Control"

Now on the left side of window scroll down to "Wizards and click on "Correct Problems" -> click "Next"

Now under "Interface" check "The context menu entry New is missing" click "Next" and follow any remaining instructions that pop up.

Hello, I had this exact same problem a few months ago and someone pointed me to this site:

You will have to go into the registry and check one value...mine had been changed, but to fix it just copy and paste the correct value into the registry key. Quick and easy.

Thanks to TekTippy4U who provided the original solution to me.
