I have only one Win2K Server with DNS and Active Directory Services. My Directory Services Event log is plagued by the following error:
----------------------------------------------------

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: NTDS KCC
Event Category: (1)
Event ID: 1091
Date: 12/10/2004
Time: 11:33:04
User: N/A
Computer: GRI2
Description:

The ntdsConnection object CN=GRI2,CN=NTDS Settings,CN=GRI2,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=americaneuropean,DC=com dictates that the local server should replicate from itself. This is not a valid configuration and will be ignored. Please use the Active Directory Sites and Services Manager to modify or delete this object.
----------------------------------------------------

Any past experiences with this problem? Please share, wise ones :)

This is from a Google search

compiled from newsgroups postings: "This message indicates that there is a replication connection from a domain controller to itself. This is not valid, and the KCC and replication are ignoring it. It can be deleted (if you run the Sites and Services mmc and expand down to Sites / Default first / servers / w2kserver / NTDS settings you will find a connection object defined, that is actually a connection from <domain controller x> to <domain controller x> that it wants you to delete)."
Good luck

Glen, I have seen this solution on google before, somehow I did not get the first time round :) I think dig it now <lol>.

Thanks!
