"Execute permission denied"

I successfully untar the following file "crack-2a.gz" in my HPUX but when I try to run it "./crack" it gives me "Execute permission denied". I have already change the mode to 777.

Anyone can help???

Maybe Crack is only running under uid 0 meaning you have to be root or the script ./crack wants to install Crack somewhere you have no write access to. Maybe there's a README? Anyway you might want to take a look at regards
