I get the error message "Error Accessing File. Network connection may have been lost.". This error message doesn't mean much to me because when I get this message I'm not going across the network in my database. I am using linked tables, but the tables are located in a database in the same directory as the source.

I've gotten this message several times and not always under the same situation. Right now I get it when I'm using a Drop Down List Box. In the past I've got it when I was opening a form, or useing a control button. I haven't been able to isolate it to a certain process or action.

The only thing I can thing of when this has happened and where it has happened is on large forms. Is there a limit as to how big a form can be?
Thanks

Hi TCVance. If you've done any coping/pasting in your db, read on.

These error messages may occur when:

You imported or copied and pasted forms or reports that contain code modules or standalone modules then you closed and reopened the database without compiling it first.

This is a known bug and Microsoft is working on it. The imported or copied/pasted forms and reports in question are not recoverable and the database is unusable in its current state.

To work around the problem: Create a new database and import all the objects except the "offending" forms and reports which will have to be recreated. Note: It's okay to import or copy and paste objects within an Access database or between databases but remember to compile the database before closing the object. With the object in design view, open the code window then go to the Debug menu and select the Compile option. Ann
