Hi all.

When I select any of the drawing objects (text boxes, arrows, callouts) in MS Office Word 2003, I see this temporary box that says "Create your drawing here", and I am forced to place my object outside of this box for it to be created. Can I turn this feature off?

Thanks in advance,

ga

That's your drawing pad. You must be used to the Drawing toolbar in office 2000 like I am. Microsoft turned something easy into strange. I'm not sitting at a computer with 2003 on it right now, but I think you can go into Tools - Options and somewhere in there turn it off. I think.
Either look around or maybe someone will post how to.

untick "automatically create drawing canvas when inserting autoshapes"

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
