Hi all.

I have eTrust 7.1.142 on a Windows Server 2003 system (at least that's where the admin client is installed). I have 100+ system set up that are NT4, 2000 and XP. I am not having any problems with any systems except ONE! For some reason this one system, which is a 2000 Dell laptop, (not unique on our network either) come up with the following error when it is time to autodownload:

"Configuration file is being used by another process."
User is - System
Code is - 3

I have tried un/re-installing eTrust on that system. I've even tried calling CA for technical support (in which they told me to do all the things I've already tried).

Any info on this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

I guess since I found out what the problem was I can answer my own question and help anyone else out who gets this problem. I found out that on the C:\ of the computer that had this problem there was a no extention file called TEMP. Well, windows doesn't differentiate between a no-extention file and and directory. So when the update of the virus signature file was run it tried to create a temp directory, which it couldn't. I don't know where this TEMP file came from but after shutting down every app and most services it disappeared. I was then able to update.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
In my case my temp directory had somehow been deleted.
Manually creating a new temp directory solved my problem.
