Mac TiBook OSX 10.2.6 Quark 6.0
Installed under another user, won't open for me. Both have admin privs. Permissions set for read & write for all. Any ideas??? TIA.

Quark 6 has a licensing agreement for a single user having 2 user profiles on the same computer may conflict with the agreement. Read the post: QuarkXPress 6.0: A Safe Upgrade in Dangerous Times

its very interesting and I think this will explain the problem.

Ohmigosh! This is too funny. I had not considered multi-user issues with Quark 6 - - apparently Quark did not either with the new, unfamiliar OSX.

This is bound to upset a hoot of a lot of folks. Most competent installations of OSX in the real business world use at least 2 user accounts (one for an IT admin and one for a designer).

What you can do is reinstall Quark 6 under administrator or the top level but you must notify quark to get the key changed (you can not just install it).

I had the same problem. If you are sharing your mac with others, log in under their user id and password. Click on the folder that containts the file you can't open. Go to the top menu and click file. I believe the drop down selection is information. If not, just click each option till you see a window pop up with the stats on the folder you have highlighted. There will be a dropdown menu with 3 options, one of which is permissions. Click on that and you will see options of read, write or read and write. Make sure that read & write are chosen for all. Do this for all folders that you share with other users. That should take care of your problem
