Hi
Suppose we have 250 newly bought PCs that come preinstalled with Windows 2000 Pro. Let us called the state of the PC at this junction as INITIAL STATE. Assume there is no Auto-Recovery CD for all the PCs.

We wish to capture the OS state of this PC in a media. Then we proceed to start up Win 2000 Pro and feed in all the necessary info like Computer Name, IP addresses e.t.c.
The pcs are then released to the users.

6 months down the line, we wish to reset all the 250 PCs to its INITIAL STATE. After resetting, we will again key in all the neccesary info like computer name, IP addresses e.t.c.

What is the best way to do this ?

Thanks.

You could ghost an image of the machine of how you want then run sysprep when the time comes for reset just reploy the image back out again. Another way is to use MS remote installion which will work the same way about will only install the O/S. If you ghost you can have the application still installed.

Try looking at at ghost enterprise edition
