Hi everyone, we have a problem in school whereby pupils are bringing in games on their usb sticks, copying them to their user areas and taking up huge amounts of disk space. As we have not yet implemented disk quotas, i thought the simplest way to deter them would be to only give them read, write and list folder contents ntfs permissions on their shares. Problem is i have 1200 pupils areas to get through and was wondering what the quickest way to do this would be. I have tried using CACLS but giving them read access also gives them read and execute.

Any help greatly apprecaited

Lindsay

ok, reason we haven't done disk quotas yet is because we only want to enforce quotas for pupils and currently there are other things on the same partition as the pupils user areas.

Is partition magic the easiest way to create a new partition on the server so we can then move just the pupils areas to that new partition and just enforce quotas for them?

Once again, thanks for any help
