Quick Time fault

I am getting a problem in Adobe Premeire 6.5.
I have some quick time video clips in the Project window.
If I select a clip then try to play it in the Project window Premiere closes down completly.
Quick Time was selected in Preferences.
Yet if I try to play it outside of Premiere the Quick Time window comes up and it plays o/k.
Also being a bit new to Premiere and would like to know a quick way to find and delete Preferences.
Any help appreciated.

I had issues with Quicktime in Premiere 6.5 too. Premiere would spontaneously gasp its last breath and die in the middle of a project. I am running Win98SE.

Problem turned out that I upgraded QT after installing Premiere. When I uninstalled QT and reinstalled the version that came with Premiere, everything was better.
