From the online help
SIP TAIL <TAIL_FLAG> <TAIL_FLAG> = ON or OFF - applies to Trunk & Line side
This command is used to start and stop SIP tracing directly to the maintenance command window. The tracing directly to the window is limited and will be terminated once 50 Kbytes of data is passed to the command window.
SIP TCPDUMP ON - applies to Trunk & Line side
Starts TCPDUMP (capturing signaling packets) for SIP signaling on MiVoice Business.
Captured data is saved into files and placed in the /Vmail folder. All SIP signaling files in the /Vmail folder have names in the format of WS_xxxxxx.pcap. A maximum of 20 files of approximately 55-Mbyte size can be created by MiVoice Business. To collect captured data, manually ftp all WS_xxxxxx.pcap files in the /Vmail folder and use the Wireshark application to view them.
NOTE: Once retrieved, it is strongly recommended to delete all WS_*.pcap files.
SIP TCPDUMP OFF - applies to Trunk & Line side
Stops TCPDUMP for SIP signaling on MiVoice Business.
SIP TRACE <TRACE_FLAG> <TRACE_FLAG> = ON or OFF - applies to Trunk & Line side
This command is used to start and stop SIP tracing directly to the following files: /db/SipTrace.rtf and /db/SipTrace_backup.rtf.The /db/SipTrace.rtf file may grow to a maximum size of 10 Mbytes before overwriting the backup file. Specific MITEL SIP components can be logged.
If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
Just to update this you can have both running at the same time. I used SIP ALL tcpdump on and also sip all tail on and both were active at the same time. Unfortunately the tail command as noted by Billz66 is very short and would need a careful ey kept on the size of the file or maybe refreshed every 5 minutes or so.
