Quick Edition Reprovisioning tool 2

so I have attempted to use the QE reprovisioning tool
( tool will reload the 4620QE with H323 software)
but the tool needs a license - it will generate the email for you to send to Avaya to request the license

however the email address bounces back. ( the software has the address hard coded in)

not so much a question but rather a funny musing,
unless some one on this board that works at Avaya can bump the people in charge of these things or has a way to get the needed lic file..... ( maybe this belongs in Definity systems forum as the tool comes from that side of the house....)

I am not a fan of the QE but the idea if good
It needed more development but it is too late now

Alternative uses for QE

Gateways make good door stops or things to stand on if you can't quite reach something.

Phones = the best thing to do with phones is pass them to the local nursery for children to pretend with...

My little boy wants a phone "just like Daddy's" - QE is ideal!

I agree that it had promise but as with so much stuff it got rushed in to production with out adiquate testing and development .... and if you could use it as a survivable branch office of IPOffice it would have rocked ... but alas it was only avalible for SES and ECG ...... so in an attempt to not light them on fire I think making them in to H323 sets is the best bet ....

oneX != QE

this was a marketing blunder on Avaya's part
they released both at the same time
Our Avaya sales rep just laughed when talking about it.
he said that the whole oneX thing kind of was release incorectly and that they are slowly getting it to make sence... so many people think of oneX as a product line
and it is just a tag line ( untill they added oneX mobility and Desktop... go figure)

that said .... she is very nice to look at.

have you actually got this to work?

I try and it acts like the files are still wrong
it pulls the software
it then grabs the license file
then it fails ....

didnt know if you had any other suggestions... besides the formentioned burning

I never used the tool but my college did and succesfully changed a QE to a normal H323 phone
What type of phone is it ?

I've got it to work.

What format are you putting the MAC address into the licence key generated.

try putting colons between the octets i.e.

zz:xx:vv:rr etc
But it works for me!
