Hi guys!
I've got a Compaq 1500VA UPS that works fine. I want to be able to get the UPS to shut down one of the servers when there's a power cut but keep the other 2 online for as long as possible. There are 2 windows machines and 1 linux, but the linux one does not state that it comes with support for Compaq UPS's, only APC atm. I also have a spare serial cable.
Can I connect the regular serial cable to the server I want to shut down and atttach the other end to the UPS, install the software and configure it via the server or do I need a special serial cable from Compaq?
