We are migrating from an Exchange 5.5/NT system to Windows 2003/Exchange 2003.

We have 2 old Exchange 5.5 boxes and now have a 2003 FE and BE, which are all in the same exchange organization.

Our FE is used for POP, IMAP, OWA and SMTP connections. We have the public store dismounted, but the first storage group mailbox store is mounted, as we understand its needeed to support POP and/or IMAP. FYI we have Microsoft, Apple and Linux clients using all types of connections.

Anyways, question is, on our front end, we have stuck in our Queue for local delivery, emails from each of our exchange servers from [EXCH SERVERNAME]-PubIS@domainname going to [FRONT END SERVERNAME]-PubIS@domainname.

Why are we getting these and what can I do about it?

I tried a google search, but it takes "PubIS" and searches on pubis LOL

Public folder hierarchy messages perhaps?

I have the public folder store disabled on this front end server.

Are you thinking that the old exchange 5.5 servers see it and are attempting to replicate the public folders to it?
