Hello all,
First off I would like to say that I am throwing this question out there but by no means am I relying on "you" to do all the work. I have been doing some research but I wanted to hear from people using it or having experienced it.
One of the reasons that is driving our upgrade is that Crystal 8 cannot display certain Chinese characters...

What should I make of using this Crystal wrapper rather than the .ocx?

It is true that I need to go from 8 to 10 to 11?

Any other tips or tricks that you can provide to steer me in the right direction?

thanks

It's not clear what you are referring to: "What should I make of using this Crystal wrapper rather than the .ocx?"

UNICODE supports started with Crystal 9.

We went from 8.5 to 10. Everything upgraded fine apart from one report where a selection statement had been dubious and we no longer got away with it in the upgraded version.

We don't use Chinese characters or any of the other sophistications that Unicode was created for. But there are a lot of useful new features. Look here for a summary of the various versions.
