We just finished moving from a netware 6.5 environment to windows 2000/2003 server environment. We are still running on GW 6.5 though.

We have a problem with logging into the NT Domain and also then Groupwise once we are logged in as it won't allow us into our Groupwise without a password.

Can we set security lower so we don't have to have a password to get into mail or just have a way it will allow us to get right into notify/grouwise once we have input our NT domain password?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Once a GroupWise account has a password applied to it, the user must supply it in order to start the GW client. Of course this password requirement does not show up if the user is already logged in to NDS as the same User ID since GroupWise trusts that as valid authentication.

Once you switched to NT, GroupWise could not get an NDS authentication so it requires a password. Your two options would be:

1) Have the users still login to NDS in addition to NT.
OR
2) Change Post Office Security Level to Low AND have each user blank out their GroupWise password. CAUTION though as this means that any user could then get in to any other user's mailbox.
