Hi,

some questions regarding the exchange agent.

1. Do I have to enter the serial number for the exchange option lokally under "local options"? or will I be asked when instaling the remote agent?

2. Do I have to install the Exchange Option during installation of the media server on the media server?

3. Is it enough to enter the serial for the exchange agent and then install the "normal" Remote agent on the exchange server or do I have to install a special Exchange Agent?

4. How does Veritas use licenses?
Do I have to enter all Serial Numbers when I install the media server and Veritas takes one when installing the remote agent?

Thanks in advance
/egr

1. Enter the serial under local options.
2. Yes install during the install of the media server - you can add it later as well, by running the installation again, From BE Tools, Serial Numbers and Installation.
3. Yes, just install the remote agent on the exchange server.
4. the licenses enable an option within BE. There is nothing technically stopping you from backing up 1000 Exchange servers with just 1 license - you would just be in violation of your licensing agreement.

Hi,

thank you very much!

Hi again,

two last questions:

1. Do I have to stop the exchange server when installing the remote agent?

2. Do I have to restart the servers on which I install the remote agent?

Thanks in advance.
