I am working on building a reporting set for a series of security logs i have and when i plug them in and go to make a report out of them, ip addresses are continually set a field type of "currency" I am new to Crystal Reports and am learning allot..... but I have yet to be able to figure out how to change that field type from currency to string, any help would be apreciated - working on Crystal Reports 9 Advanced.

In Design, click on the field you want, then right-click on the same field. When the menu comes up, click on "Format Field", then click on the "Number" Tab and pick your format. Make sure the "Display Currency Symbol" is not checked. Crystal takes it's best guess when adding a field, I've found it likes the Currency Type a lot.

When i do that it gives me all currency related Field choices (whether the Display Currency Symbol is, or is not, checked) I want to be able to turn this into a string type field (or any other field that wont do any changing to the raw data), because no matter how i try to customize it, it keeps coughing on the fact my data is in the format N.N.N.N where N == Number between 1 and 255, I have scoured through the manual on how to change between currency and string type field but I must be dense as I cant find it

Thank you for your help!
