My boss was suggesting that I get some certifications through Avaya as we are now using them for our telephony needs. I've been to the Avaya University site but not sure what to take relating to my field. I'm in charge of managing basic adds, moves and changes as well as anything else our users need on their sets, in essence I have an administrator role. On Avaya's site, their "credentials" program seems to me to be geared more towards people who work for Avaya or are Avaya partners and the "role training" doesn't seem to provide any certifications. Has anyone in an administrator role taken any of these courses? Any suggestion on which path i should take?

Thanks,

You may find better answers than I will post for you. Honestly I hope so as I am pretty much in the same position.

The link above will be the best you could get for your training dollars and geared towards what you do. But I do not believe you will receive any certs.

If they want you have have knowledge of your system (programming and Maintenance) and not how to install them, then this is your best bet.

When is the last time you helped someone, just because you were able to?

Thanks, im pretty comfortable with the system itself. I came from three years of working on a Nortel system so it was just learning new commands. My boss is more concerned with the certs so I can ask for more money and i'll have better luck finding a job if I ever lost the one I currently have.
