Hello,

I have a cisco 2620 with an ethernet module. If I set the FastEthernet port at full-duplex and the Ethernet port at half-duplex, will this slow down the traffic on the router? my connection to the internet seem to lag when it download the webpage. Will it help improve my internet connection if I setup the fastethernet to half-duplex?

Thanks,

The duplex and speed settings will need to be the same at each end of the ethernet links.

From your description I assume you have both types of interface fitted to your 2620, in which case they can both run at different speeds and duplex, as long as the corresponding peer has the same settings. If you run a link with FD at one end and HD at the other It'll sort of work but you'll get a lot of errors, and poor performance.
