I have been planning on building a Micro ATX Desktop Gaming Rig for about 5 months now. I'm using 'newegg.com'* & I'd like to give a fairly beefy, yet sweet looking PSU. I've found 2 that I like, both by the same manufacturer. One is a 520w & the other a 600w. Yeah, it's a bit excessive, but I like overkill! Anyway, here's the question:

Does anyone happen to know if a Micro ATX Desktop Case, that comes with a 400w PSU, will accomodate a 520w or a 600w PSU since both are slightly larger than a 400w?

Oh yeah, both PSUs I've chosen use modular cable connections if that matters space-wise.

*If you don't like newegg.com, regardless of whether you know the answer to my question or not, don't tell me that you don't like newegg.com. And don't tell me about a 'better' site for PC parts. In my opinion, I like newegg.com, & I'm a firm believer of 'To each his/her own'! Thx!

Yes size does matter! most micro ATX cases cannot physically accomodate the standard power supply size and modular design's are even worse because the solid terminal connectors protrude even further from the rear of the PSU casing.
Other problems relating to heat might also arrise in a case this small and with powerful components that by their very nature produce more heat.
Micro ATX also means you will be restricted to a smaller less feature rich motherboard with know SLi or Crossfire facility.

Thx for the advice concerning modular PSUs. I'll get one on a different build. Looking for a 450w right now. I've done so rough guesstimations of sizes for the case I'm gonna get & I think it'll fit a 450w.

Next question: About how long is the avg Dual GPU vid card? Like say the:

MSI NX7950GX2-T2D1GE Geforce 7950GX2 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Dual GPU Video Card

I know it will fit on my motherboard [ MSI K8NGM2-FID Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail] which is 9.6" by 9.6", but will it 'hang over' the front of the motherboard because of length? Or should I just look for a Single GPU vid card w/ 512MB memory?

Also, I have heard talk of a new GPU coming out that is supposed to blow the 7950GX2 away! Anyone know if there's any truth to that, & if so, should I look into getting one of those, instead?

^-- add on
As far as cooling issues for my Micro ATX, I plan on putting in a liquid cooling system for the CPU, GPU, & possibly the RAM. If I have room.

Oh yeah, I DO realize that the Mb I've chosen comes with an onboard DVI vid card [NVIDIA GeForce 6150], but the plan is to make it a Micro "Uber Powerful Gaming Rig"! So, plz keep that in mind when wondering y I want a more powerful vid card.
