Hello all-
I am looking at acquiring a Cisco wireless solution for my company. this will be used for internal (very local) building usage where I don't need something drastic like a 1400 bridge or anything close to that kind of power.
However, I will need this potential Access Point to be able to cover a square foot capacity of 9,000. Would an Aironet 1100 Access-point. My Datacenter is a Cisco shop suing 6509 core switches, 3600 perimeter router for web access and a pix 515E firewall..
If I went with the 1100 Access Point would I need anything else other than the wireless nic cards? Could I just plug it into my 6509, then ip address, create SSID etc etc .it and all will be ok?
I guess i should ask this since I'm on the topic. Would I need to worry about Cisco compatibility with certain wireless cards.. I believe a that my users whom use laptops would probably have a hodge podge of D-link and linksys wireless cards.
Thanks for any design info or any insight provided for this implementation
