Hey again all. Easy question for the experts.

I need to setup another voice menu/auto att, etc and am curious what I need to do to avoid busy signals when more than one call comes in? Currently the number I will assign a voice menu to is just a regular user with voice mail, etc... We need this number to serve as a auto attendant for another company in the building. (I posted this similar question before and confirmed it is not on copper, on PRI...)

Thanks as always!

Calls are queued rather than blocked (because the Mail system channels are like ACD agents). Essentially, you'll be free of busy signals but your callers may hear more rings if all channels are busy.

As long as you have voicemail ports available they should not get a busy signal if it is a DID coming in.

ACD queue is for voicemail. But if you get to the end of your trunks you will get the busy.

You are fine, the only thing I would say is contact your vendor and ask them if the port capacity on the voicemail will handle the volume of calls you are about to throw at it. You may cause your callers to hear excessively long ring times.

If it's callpilot, then verify the min max channels on the SDN table when you assign the application to the DN. Some sites I have visited limit the channels so people calling that application don't hog all the channels.
