I have a 200 mb .q file that is wasting space and I would like to delete it. It currently has no file attributes set on it but when I try to delete it, it won't happen. I tried removing it in NetWare Administrator and it just comes back saying it "could not be deleted". Any ideas?

Where is the file located?

"It's true, its damn true!"

The file is in the USR volume:
\QUEUES\A70300C2.QDR\03a70001.q

I guess I can restart the server to release the lock on it, then do a purge /all and try again to delete it (if its still there)

what is your printer config?

That "appears" to be a file stuck in a queue waiting to be sent to a printer. find out what printer has the file locked and delete the job from there. that should clear the file, or at least release it so you can delete it.

How long has the file been in there like that?

Sometimes you can also delete files from the server when unsuccessful from a workstation. Need to use a tool like TOOLBOX.NLM
