I apologize in advance for this question. My company has several terminals that are linked to a central server. My goal is to have our IT dept create a protected folder that only specific users can access. In that folder I wish to put the database I have created. I know that in macros that are hosted in excel, it is possible to save the file as a template that will allow multiple users to use the application simulaneously. With Microsoft Access 2000, is there any issue with multiple users accessing the database simultaneously. There is only one user that will be updating the database, the other users will only view reports, forms, etc.

I guess, in a nutshell, all I'm asking is if there is anything special that I must do in order to save the database into this folder, knowing that there is a possibility that multiple users may be in the database at the same time.

Thanks in advance,

D

This is very common. You will build a front end which has all the reports, forms, code. Each user gets a copy of the Front end. Thec back end resides on the server with only the tables. You use the "linked table manager" to link your locat front end to the back end.

Thank you both very much. This information is exactly what I was looking for. Stars for everyone :)
