At my main office I have about 15 centrally managed Symantec Antivirus Corproate Edition v10.0 clients. At my other 9 remote offices (in 9 different cities with 2-7 users each), everyone has Norton Antivirus 2004/2005. I want to upgrade these remote clients to the latest version.
My local vendor tells me to just buy more SAV licenses and install it as a stand-alone on each machine. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to doing this instead of installing NAV 2006? Would it make sense to try and manage these remote clients from our SAV server if I do install the SAV client? In case you're wondering, most of the offices have some kind of DSL or wireless service but a few are so remote that they only have dial-up access.
