Hello there. I have a question about scheduling reports for version 9. Previously we were using Seagate Info 7 and CR7 and the process was as follows:

- create report and save to xdrive
- grab the report from the xdrive and drag into SI7 (if the report existed, you would overwrite it.
- refresh the report within SI7 and schedule. This yielded the newest version of the report.

Now, in CE9, is there an easy way to accomplish what was done in 7? If we try the above in 9, it never seems to publish the newest version of the report, yet the old version of the report does indeed get overwritten.

We called Crystal and they were no help. We walked them through the same process and still they could not give an answer.

There is a way to publish the latest version of the report, but that involves changing the published report itself. This if fine and dandy when you are in testing phase, but when you get to production, it is too risky and not recommended.

Please advise, thanks.

You can save directly to CE from within Crystal Reports, however the database connectivity needs to be refreshed within CE.

To save to CE from CR select File->Save As->Enterprise Folders (icon on the left side of the save dialog).

You won't need to reschedule, but you will have to refresh the user/pw for database connectivity.
