Question about ATI All-in-Wonder Pro and Win2k

Hi.
I've got an ATI All-in-Wonder Pro PCI video card running on my Win2k Pro system that's set up as a file server. The AiW comes with a TV tuner that you can attach to your household coax tv line, and an applet to run the tv application itself. I haven't been able to get the TV tuner to work with Win2k, and was wondering if anyone else had, and if so, how.

System: (yes, it's puny, it's a fileserver, whaddya expect?)
IBM P-166 desktop system
64MB of ram (I think, probably higher)
ATI All-in-Wonder PCI video card
PCI 10/100 network card
Soundblaster ISA Sound Card
17GB HD

Win2K is a fresh, clean install, I've done the updates, gotten the latest copy of the software from ATI (which says it should work with win2k), and updated my video driver, but when I run the TV applet it thinks for a few minutes and then says "Unable to initialize, ensure you have the latest drivers". I know that the TV outlet it's connected to is good (tested it), and I know the card is good (tested it too). Nothing shows up out of the ordinary in device manager, and other than this app not running, everything else is fine. I don't have any TSRs running except for the ATI taskbar icon, which I've disabled with no change. As for the software itself, I installed the copy from the ATI website, and haven't even touched the old ATI cd (which probably has NT4 drivers on it, but that's it).

If anyone has any ideas (other that going out and buying a TV tuner card) it's be appreciated.

Cervantes,

I think I read something in the FAQ at the ATI website concerning that issue. The latest driver update was supposed to have fixed it. I will go back and see if I can find it and post the url here.
I have been trying to install a Radeon 9000 Pro for several days on a W2000 Server. The drivers seem to install ok. After the initial install, I can go into the Device manager and see that message saying the device is working properly etc. After I reboot, all I get is a Big cursor and no Desktop. Booting up in Safe Mode, the device manager states that No Drivers are installed for that device. The Advanced tab shows all of the drivers etc. and everything looks ok. I have called ATI several times and all they tell me is that "It should work". Not much help. I think that if I can find the entry in the registery where it points to the driver I might be able to get around that problem.
Anyway, I will go back and see if I can find the TV tuner fix.

Try this for your problem:
From the article:
When you attempt to use the advanced features of the ATI All-in-Wonder RADEON video adapter, such as the TV tuner and digital output, the features may not be available.
This behavior occurs because the default ATI driver that is installed on the computer does not support the adapter's advanced features.
Unfortunately, it tells you to go here:))

Good luck!
