Question about a perl script I found

I have 3 machines.

1 Unix box
1 Terminal Server
1 Switch

The Switch is sending output messages to a tty that is directly connected to a port on the Terminal Server. I need the Unix Box to establish a connection to the Terminal Server and log everything that comes across this connection to a file on the Unix Box. Will this Script do this?
