This is probably reallyu simple, it has been anoying me for some time now

I have a crosstab query that gets it crteria of a two text box's on a form (txtStartDate and txtEndDate)

I have put the following code in the parameter section of the query

Between [forms]![frmPreviewReports]![txtStartDate] And [Forms]![frmPreviewReports]![txtEnddate]

But i am getting a invalid bracketing of name error

please help

Could be the brackets around Forms!:
Between Forms![frmPreviewReports]![txtStartDate] And Forms![frmPreviewReports]![txtEnddate]

since "Forms" is Access keyword to relate to an object type, the bracketed values are names of the respective objects

Hallo,

You could try using the Expression Builder to create your Criteria. Sometimes this works when just writing it in doesn't.

Hi,

I noticed your 1st [forms] and your 2nd is [Forms]. Could Access be kicking you for not having both as [forms], not capitalized ?

I have had several "issues" with parameters since upgrading to Office XP from 2000. Every time I've opened a perfectly working parameter query in design mode in the XP version, I've received your error. This has mostly been because XP wants brackets on everything, like you've done. 2000 version let you do Forms!frmFormName!txtName in the parameters section. If I never opened it in design mode, the query would run as well as always, but once it was opened in design mode, you had to put the brackets in.

Good luck,

Joe
