Query linked data in a SQL database???

This may be an easy one for you gurus . . .

Is it possible to query data in a SQL database from another SQL database on the same server?

If so, how would I go about that. I would appreciate any help. Boss is breathing down my neck to get this project done.

Running SQL7 sp3, NT Server 4 (sp6)

Fully qualify what you want to query:

From database1:

SELECT field FROM database2.dbo.tablename
