I have a form with text boxes that I use to enter data and then hit a button to run a query based on it's values

(eg.) The query uses this to retrieve it's data
Like "*" & [Forms]![SEARCH]![SURNAME] & "*"

Is it possible to send full statements to the query such as
between X and Y or,
>=2

I have tried just using [Forms]![SEARCH]![SURNAME]thinking it would take the full text, but it does not seem to work.

I am a newbie and do not know any Access programming.

Thanks in Advance

Any valid SQL couyld be formed on buttons click and set
to the query def or the formed string can be executed
It is allowed

I'll expand more on my setup; I have a blank form with about 15 fields on in which the person enters text in any of the fields they wish to search they then hit a button which opens a report based on a query that takes it's lines from the form. This works okay if you enter the exact values, but I would like to be able to put in a value such as " between 2 and 8" instead of just " 8 ".

Thanks Again
