QuarkXpress 4.1 Update Problems

We use a server to store the image files and such, then we import them into Quark. If for some reason, something changed with the image files and the Usage tool shows "missing image", we could update all the files at once. Recently we developed a problem where we now have to go through a file one by one and choose the image location (even though the dialog box opens up to the correct folder, and none of the image file names nor locations have changed.) Anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it? It's really tedious to have to select all the files all over again, even though nothing has changed.

The system's are running QuarkXpress 4.1 and 4.11 on Mac OS9.2

I've used Quark for about 10 years. It seems to dig it's teeth into files to me. I once made a folder invisible to try to get it to 'let go' of images it had located and it can still see the folder that is invisible to the finder.

Which makes me ask... is the server a PC?
