hi

we recently converted from v5 up to v6 running on OSX. since doing that, the file sizes for the pdf's has really grown while the resolution has significantly diminished.

can anyone help out / suggest what we should do?

Also, we do have Adobe Acrobat Pro v6 installed as well.

Thanks.

I am having the same problem as you are. Only difference is that I have Acrobat 5.

I had minimal luck reducing the file size using the File>Export>Layout as PDF, though I did get my file to go from 22MB to 6.5 MB.

Using the same document, I got the file size down to 1.6 MB. I went to File>Print>Options, then reduced the resolution from 1200 dpi to 150. I guess 1200 was the defualt. I don't know.

I also changed a setting in the Options tab on the same Print interface. I changed Output from "normal" to "low resolution" (setting it to "rough" reduced the file size to 128KB, but the images were replaced with empty boxes).

And finally I went to the OPI tab and check off "low resolution".

Maybe someone can explain what is going on here. Maybe what I did helps you a bit.

Good luck
