I use Quark 4.1 on an apple mac. Im designing an invitation and the screen image shows placement of pictures and type but when I print it out its in a totally different area of the paper. I ts as if there are hidden margins that I can't see. HELP
Create a new document, draw a colored box in the very top left corner, and print it out. If it's the same size as it should be, then your document is being shifted to make room for printer margins. You can see how much it's being shifted easily enough with a ruler, and with these values, you can compensate in your file:
1: Make sure the rulers are visible (View > Show Rulers)
2: Drag the origin (where the two rulers meet) to the point where your printer starts to print.
3: When you open the print dialog box, go to the 'Document' tab.
4: Set 'Tiling' to Manual and Print.
That should do it! Hopefully you don't have anything too close to the edge of the page, as it will be cut off, but it seems as though your printer isn't capable of printing in this area anyway...
