Hello

I am experiencing a printing problem with a particular Quark doc that was produced for us and is stored on a CDROM, I have copied the doc and fonts to the MAC HD but have not got enough space for the supporting art files, I have not had any trouble printing existing docs (networked HP 4050n) but am unable to print certain pages of this 80 page doc, the error I get is "postscript error see finder for details" the finder just repeeats that there has been a postscript error.

I could use some help in trying to establish where the problem lies as I have spent months trying to get up to speed on Apple Macs and thought that I had solved all printing problems ages ago (Have had no printing problems for 4Months+)

Thanks for your comments

How much space is left on your Hard Drive?

Does the page have pictures on it?

I would say, from what you have said about supporting artwork files that you do not have enough room to print the jobs out!!

When you print a file to the printer it has to create a tmp file some where, normally on the Hard disk. If you don't have the room it want do it. Have you tried printing the pages one at a time? Can you free up any space, cause 4 months ago you may have had more than you have now. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Thanks Matthew

Ive only got about 120MB free disk space, the document is actually a book catalogue with quite a lot of graphics per page - the strange thing is that it seems to have a problem only with certain pages, I was able to print 9 out of 10 random pages today - all of the pages have a very similar layout and the only real difference that I can see is the design of a sort of banner/header of which there are about 4 types that were printed in the succesfull 9, but this one different one on the page that did not print.

If I do suspect that the problem lies with a particular part of the doc, what can I do about it?

Thanks

Graham

You could try printing just with the fonts and then with just the images. Brake the page down to find out what the problem is.

To find out if it the images change the print option to print Rough in Options, instead of normal or low.

120MB is not a lot to be left on the HDD, you should have aleast a 1/4 of your total HDD space left. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.
