quark - pdf with Bengali font

Hi - I am creating a doc in Quark (v4.1) that uses a Bengali font (Sutonny). It displays well in Quark, but I want to create a pdf of my page. When I save the page as an eps and open it in illustrator (v.8), some of the Bengali does not look correct, and when I save the illustrator file as a pdf, the pdf displays complete character rubbish in Acrobat Reader (5). Is there a better way to create a pdf from Quark, and do I need a plug-in for Quark or Illustrator or Acrobat Reader in order to display the Bengali font correctly?
PLease help if possible!

Try Printing to a postscript file then distilling it to a pdf.
Making sure you embed all you fonts...if you have distiller that is...?

I had a lot of similar roadblocks with Quark 5 -- it seems neither Adobe or any plugin supported .pdf creation of a Quark file (with the possible exception of Adobe InDesign 2.0, which has its own quirks).

Quark 6.0 now is available and has a create .pdf feature, which seems to work. I am still having trouble compressing the file size of its resulting .pdf's.

In Quark 4.11 and 5.0 you can go to your preferences and select PDF, in this window you need to put in where you have your Acrobat Distiller, tell it if you want to distill now or just create a .ps file to distill later, and some other job options for you to look at. Then go back to your document and select "File>Export>Document as PDF" in Q5.0 and "Utilites>Export as PDF" In Q4.11. I create pdf's with Quark all day long without any problem here, You will need ot have Acorbat Distiller though which comes with the full version of Acrobat.
