Quark layer control in a PDF 1

Is it possible to create a PDF from Quark that allows you to retain and control layers? In other words, after the PDF is created you would have the ability to turn layers off and on in Acrobat.

Quark exports PostScript to create PDF files through JAWS. Because PDF layers can only be defined in PDF, Quark's simplified output will not be able to produce PDF layers.
