I have been working now with both programs for 2 months now, and to be honest, I do not like Quark at all!! All the great MILLIONS of keyboard short cuts you can use with Adobe, you can't use with Quark! Plus, Quark only has like 5 shortcuts (yes, I am exaggerating, but not by much)!! Plus, you are so limited with things you can do in Quark! The creativity you use to fix problems that were created, you can't use in Quark! Quark is supposed to be coming out with a newer, better improved version, I guess we will just have to wait and see if it can compare to Indesign!

You have entered into a forum where the expression 'preaching to the choir' comes to mind. [bigsmile] However, if you sincerely want to be an advocate or evangelist for InDesign, please base your comments on fact. Rumor and exaggeration is a good way to discourage a meaningful comparison of applications.

While I agree that ID is far better than Quark, they both get the job done. The vast majority of ID adopters lived in Quark for years prior to ID and used the zillions of keyboard shortcuts in Quark. The newspaper layout guys especially rely on those shortcuts.

If, in ID, you go Edit menu/keyboard shortcuts, you'll be able to select the Quark shortcuts rather than the ID default. Adobe did that because so many people lived with all those Q shortcuts and did not want to memorize a whole new set.
